A tribute to Robert Browning’s “Porphyria’s Lover”
Liam Kerwin
Grade 12
The Browning School

And so it sent,
And now I Wait—
To Lose my mind
Or find my Fate.

The Time—between—
a dangerous place
so Easy—burns
away your Hope.

As fires rise
So do my hands
 and pray to him—

As winter comes,
my days turn dark—
my Hope succumbs—
to Doubt like Frost.
